How To Be A Popular Politician

Republican John Boehner recently gave the commencement speech at a Catholic university. Catholics came down on him for turning his back on the elderly, the poor, and the sick with the Ryan bill. Boehner cried his way through it.

Back when Republican Eisenhower was president, the top tax rate was 92%. Today it is 35%, and Republicans are promising voters a top rate of only 25%.

I think I’ll run for political office. I’ll promise the voters a top tax rate of only 10%.
Then when the Tea Party complains that their street lights are no longer coming on at night, I’ll start crying.

Run For Political Office?

A few people have asked me to run for political office.

I said, Lord, I could never run, I've said too much.
A politician learns to talk a lot and say nothing.
