Arm in Arm

Republicans say they want to "take this country back."
The truth is they want to take it back to child labor, sweat shops, factories where men and women lose arms and legs, no minimum wage where workers have to work 60 to 70 hours a week to skimp by, workers retire along the curb in cardboard boxes.
The Republican conspiracy is not to balance the budget, but to destroy unions. There may have been occasional union excesses in years past, but they were only in response to excesses those on the other side of the fence were grabbing for themselves.
Some would even say they received good wages without a union; that was only because there was a union down the road.
None of us were there when union members gave their lives to give America a middle class!!!
But let us all be there, arm in arm, when Republicans try to take away America's middle class!!!

Recalling

I know I should be hitting the political issues hard, and will soon.
Right now I'm recalling some of my sayings from decades back, and wanted to share them:

* I would never, ever think of doing anything wrong.
Like most people, I would just do it without thinking.

* The things you will regret most in life are the things you never did.

* I could have been a Republican. I believe in most things they say they do; it's just that they don't.

* Many times I feel like saying: Nor am I a Democrat. I refuse to be a member of a party that will not fight.

* Republicans mistakenly say that we are for the masses, while they are for the individual. They mistakenly think that because we are for each and every individual.

* How do you keep your economy healthy? You keep everybody in it.

* How much government? As little government as you treat your people fairly; as much government as you treat your people unfairly.

* There are those who say we do not need unions today. The day we will not need unions is the day the last person who says that walks off into the Atlantic Ocean.

* The Republican Party cannot exist without an enemy, real or imagined.

* People have asked me whether I have read this novel, or watched that soap opera. I tell them I was too busy living it.

* Always, always save a little space in your heart for humor.
You may not always be able to find humor in everything that hits you, but there will always be a place you can reach into if you need it.

If you enjoy this site, please pass it on to others.

Chili Recipe

I am cooking chili today. I put beans in mine.
Some people in the South challenge that.
I tell them that when God created chili, He put beans in it.
They say, God didn't create chili!!!!!

I tell them, oh yes, He did. What's more, He said, Anybody who violates this sacred recipe better think twice about going to Heaven.

They've been flipping through the pages of The Bible frantically, saying they couldn't find it. I said, Did you check the Old Testament?

Not In OUR Constitution !

I’m tired of the twisted thinking of some Republicans.
They say that this item specifically, or that item specifically is not in our Constitution, therefore we cannot do it.
NASA was not specifically in our Constitution.
To put it more bluntly, according to Republican thinking, America's landing on the Moon was unConstitutional.
By golly, they may be onto something.
Or on something.
